About Us

North Star Protogrove, ADF is a not-for-profit religious organization operating under the auspices of Ár nDraíocht Féin (ADF), an international druid fellowship.

Based on the south coast of Maine, North Star Protogrove seeks to facilitate spiritual experiences for people of all different races, colors, genders, sexual orientations and national origins. It is an anti-racist congregation that understands our religious practice as being open to all people, regardless of ancestry.

North Star Protogrove operates from within a polytheistic worldview in which there are a multiplicity of divine beings with whom human beings can form meaningful and life-affirming relationships. These divine beings include deities, the spirits or memories of our ancestors, and a variety of spirits embodied in the natural world. Our religious practice takes its inspiration from the pre-Christian religious traditions of Europe, Iran, and India, but carries that inspiration forward into the modern world.

We regard nature in all its manifestations as sacred, and stand for the ideal of human beings living in balance with the natural world. We are a non-revealed religious tradition in which the spiritual experiences of our members naturally and organically drive the development of our theology and practice. We celebrate the eight major holidays common to many religious traditions within contemporary Paganism.
