North Star Druids Welcome Anu

For the Autumnal Equinos this year we honor Anu, an Irish goddess of the earth and of fertility.

In medieval Irish sources, Anu is called the Mother of the Gods, and she is often conflated with either the goddesses Brigid or Morrigan.

She is likely associated with two mountains in Munster, Da Chich Anann--the Breasts of Anu

As is often the case with Irish goddesses, her exact aspects are unclear due to the Christianization of our sources, but she certainly was a goddess of the land and of sovereignty whom, within the Irish mythological complex, must marry the rightful king of the land to ensure fertility and prosperity for the people.
